Conservation areas---1992.


Reposting-The former Sir John A. Macdonald and Queen Elizabeth Parkways may be depaved. "About 30 permanent gates, that are easy to open and close, would be installed at roads ending on QED between Laurier Avenue and Dow's Lake." "Federal, scenic highways and parks in the National Capital Region are dedicated to the memory of Canadian soldiers who died fighting in foreign wars. They will be owned by the citizens of Canada in perpetuity." (The Greber Report of 1950, page 228/395.)

Scenic parkways cannot be depaved, privatized or off-limits to motor vehicles. They are protected by a federal designation, the National Interest Land Mass (1988):
