Wake up Canadians.

Global corporations are profiting from the privatization of our Crown corporations, infrastructure, land, buildings and military bases.
Shortly before the Canadian National Railway was privatized, the Quebec City bridge was sold to the CNR for a dollar. Now Bill Gates, who is the richest man in the world and a major CN Rail investor, refuses to paint the bridge:
"CN's responsibility for the Quebec Bridge does not encompass enhancing the heritage or aesthetic aspect of the bridge."  Two local mayors are trying to shame Bill Gates into refurbishing the property, see "Quebec mayors to Bill Gates: "Paint Your Bridge, Bill", HuffPost Canada. During a television interview Bill Gates bragged about how much money he has accumulated from his CN Rail investment. CN was known as "The People's Railway" when the People of Canada owned the Crown corporation.
Canadian Forces Base Chibougamau in Quebec was situated on top of the Chibougamau Goldfields, naturally the Mulroney government decommissioned the military base and sold the land to a resource company. Oil companies have drilling rights on CFB Suffield Alberta land and CFB Falconbridge land was denationalized.
The multinational corporation General Electric has drilling and mining rights on CPR land that should have been returned to the citizens of Canada, see my blogs:
"Prime Minister Trudeau tried to return Canadian Pacific Railway land to the people of Canada"
and
"Facts about Marathon Realty, the real estate arm of the Canadian Pacific Railway".
I wonder who will profit, when Parks Canada sells all the infrastructure in our National Parks, our national treasures. The Rideau Canal is a UNESCO World Heritage Site but that will not stop the  agency from selling bridges that should be owned by future generations of Canadians. The Rideau Canal lock stations are popular tourist attractions, including the Poonamalie, Smiths Falls, Burritts Rapids, Hog's Back and Merrickville lock stations.

CBC executives Robert Rabinovitch and Carole Taylor wanted to sell the Crown corporation's 608 transmission towers, 750 transmission sites and 2,500 transmitters. Barry Diller of the ABC television network, Paramount Pictures and Fox News was interested in buying the infrastructure. The buyer had to sign a confidentially agreement. Taxpayers of Canada may be paying a billionaire media mogul so that the CBC can air countless English monarchy documentaries and reruns of Coronation Street. I would much rather see Canadian documentaries that feature homegrown heroes such as Terry Fox; and I would like to see vintage programs such as "The Forest Rangers", Ian and Sylvia and the Great Speckled Bird and Anne Murray specials. Oh, I forgot, the British Broadcasting Corporation owns all the CBC television and radio archives.
Taxpayers of Canada have to pay CN Rail (Bill Gates) so that VIA Rail trains can run on their tracks. And CN Rail has priority use of the tracks.
