The loss of Crown property.

House of Commons Ottawa July 15, 1963  Mr. Gauthier, Social Credit: "How many experimental farms does the Department of Agriculture operate in Canada and, of those, how many in the province of Quebec."

Mr. Bruce Silas Beer (Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Agriculture) Liberal: "Apart from the research branch headquarters establishment in Ottawa, and two national research institutes located elsewhere in Ontario, the Department of Agriculture operates 39 research stations and experimental farms, six of which are located in the province of Quebec."

Agriculture Canada owned more than two million acres of land in 1985.
