Condominiums are being constructed near Summerhill Station in Toronto.

     The land was owned by the real estate arm of the Canadian Pacific Railway Marathon Realty. During the early 1970's local residents fought a proposal by Marathon Realty to demolish the train station and build hundreds of houses on the site, a  book entitled "Marlborough Marathon: One Street Against a Developer"  by J.L Granatstein documents the community's efforts.
 Marathon also wanted to flatten Toronto's Union Station and Montreal's Windsor Station.
     Like a phoenix rising from the ashes or a metastasizing cancer, plans again are underway to redevelop the land surrounding Summerhill Station:
