Prime Minister of Canada - Sir Wilfrid Laurier, served as Prime Minister from 1896-1911.
Federal Minister of Agriculture - Sydney Arthur Fisher - Served as Minister of Agriculture 1896-1911.
The Civic Hospital bought 25 acres of the Reid farm in 1919, and the land will revert to the City of Ottawa if the land is not used for health care purposes. The government of Canada proclaimed that the Experimental Farm would be an open area in perpetuity:
